Worth doing poorly?

If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing…POORLY???

Approximately one year ago, I started running…and nobody was chasing me.  To say I had my challenges and setbacks in the beginning would be an understatement.  I thought my knees were going to break, my lungs were going to fail, and waking up super early was not sustainable.

While I was unaware of the following quote, it makes so much sense to me now.

In approximately two weeks, I will be participating in my first half marathon, St. Jude’s Memphis Marathon to be exact.  You heard me correctly.  In one year, I went from not running for sixteen years to running 13.1 miles.  In the beginning, it was ugly.  Now, it is part of how I describe myself.  I’m a runner.

In today’s article (read it here), I write about this lesson and two others I learned during the recent TSBA Convention.

What are you doing poorly in pursuit of doing it well?
