New Year = New You

Happy 2014!


We rang in the New Year by attending a wedding.  As I was thinking about the power of a this moment, I struggled to find a better illustration than two people getting married.

They brought two things together and made something new.  They approach the New Year with great expectations of what is to come.  They participate in the symbol of wiping away the old and leaning into the new.

Here’s an excerpt from my article in today’s Jackson Sun.

Happy New Year!  Why is the New Year so refreshing?  Is it because we see it as an opportunity to wipe the slate clean?  Maybe we view it as an excuse to do something big and to make 2014 the year that changed our future forever.  Let’s be honest, New Year’s resolutions present each of us a challenge, while only about 12% of us succeed…you can be in that 12.  Continue reading…
