For What?

What’s it all worth?


Have you ever been so busy, you have to stop to ask the question, “What’s it all worth?”  This happened to me recently.  A friend of mine made the declaration, “I will never be rich.”  My immediate thoughts revolved around how defeatist this sounded.  He didn’t know whether he would be rich or not, so why would he be sealing his fate so early?

This question remains without an answer but the freedom that comes from owning that is quite amazing.  The pressure which is removed, the desire to have a huge house, take amazing vacations, have multiple homes, etc. begins to wane.  Of course, if these things come through pursuing the things that matter, so be it.  If not, look at all the amazing blessings you still have around you.

As I sat down to write this weeks article for The Jackson Sun, I couldn’t help but reflect on what is said about those who have passed from this life to the next.  An excerpt is below.
