Why Time is Meant to be Shared

What else can you do with time?


We are only given so much time.  As they used to remind us at the beginning of Days of our Lives, “Like sand through the hour glass, these are the days of our lives.”  (And, no I didn’t watch it, but I did see the intro a few times.)  We don’t know how much sand is in the hour glass with our name on it.  We don’t know when we will take our last breath, but we do know something else.

Recently, I was reminded, “We tend to think about our life in “minutes”, when in reality we measure our life in “moments” (Dr. Kirby Godsey).  It is very important for us to understand and be intentional about how we share time with others.

This is something I have come to realize that my father was really good at.  In today’s Jackson Sun, I share how hunting wasn’t really about hunting after all.

As the leaves begin to change and the temperatures continue to fall, I cannot help but think back on days gone by.  The seasonal changes typically force me to flash back, at least briefly, to reflect on what I was doing a year ago.  The other thing I have noticed is how seasons are not the only things that continue to change.  Continue reading…
